I’ll Say!

Comments are always appreciated. This from TDK Reader DH about the erosion at Landfill 10:
Most frustrating. Back in November I had a conversation with one of the project managers who indicated they were “caught by surpise” when the November storm damaged the retaining provisions and heavily silted the creek. According to him at the time they were taking new measures including installing a collection tank. The sandbag and tank approach does not seem to be viable, and some type of additional drainage tied into the parking lot system seems needed. There are many more issues with this remediation than meet the eye and neighbors attention.
I looked over site #10 on Sunday. Much work has been done on the hillside to apply additional netting. There still is a band on the hillside, where the debris was scraped away to grade but a vein of debris still remains and the rains have washed the topsoil off of it. doubtful if anything will grow with no way to the soil at that location. Still no sign of any drainage work on or near the road that leads to 15th Ave. The big tank for collection staged there earlier is now gone. Down below, I also found an accumulation of bottles, cans and trash some old needing haul out and some new being tossed down to the creek area. Really wacky- Recyclables are also being dumped into the forms where concrete is being poured. I thought this was a remediation project
I should add that its clearly visible silting has found its way down in to the flat area at many places from the remediation area as well as the rest of the hillside
